connor's birthday party

james and i were invited to a beautiful wedding this weekend at skyline country club

james' mom kathy was also invited so we got to spend the afternoon with her!

we had a great time getting dressed up and having a nice afternoon without the kiddies

 i was convinced that the camera was not working

james proved me wrong with this goofy picture

not to mention all the crap i'm carying

nail polish remover, diapers and water

don't leave home without all that junk

happy 'dirtday' connor

three years ago today connor came into our lives changing us forever...

at 11:17am weighing 6lbs 14oz

our life's focus shifted dramatically

james and i were laughing today about the moment we saw him

we immediately looked at each other with surprise in our eyes and then started laughing because he looked so different then we thought he would

he had lots of darkish hair and looked tan (that tan was really jaundice :)

today he weighs 28lbs and won't stop talking

he has brought us so much joy and we are loving this new stage of toddlerhood

he gives us so much love everyday he is so sweet

we cannot believe how fast the past few years have gone

and i know the next year will pass just as quickly

connor was shocked to see the banner i made him as he came down the stairs this morning

he said "oh wow, i like it mommy thank you"

we had a great day just hanging around the house and baking a dino cake and cupcakes, watching scooby doo and diego in our jammies

his 'dirtday' breakfast

he got to open two presents - zhu zhu pets

he was very excited about them and molly was not happy that she didn't get one

and even more unhappy that she could not take it from connor to play with

i was pulling molly off of him she was screaming at him

{don't worry, james ran out the door to get her one!}

i made connor a dinosaur cake! 

it was a test run for his party and it turned out pretty good



my parents came by to bring connor a present

he was so exctited to get a CARS garage set

all in all it was a great day

connor is becoming a little person and toddlerhood is certainly interesting and entertaining

he cracks us up all day with the things he says (& does & wears)

our dear molly

our sweet molly is already 13 months old

she is weighing in at 19lbs and is 28.5 inches tall

she is a little thing only in the 25th percentile for her age

but she is extremely vocal and sweet

she is walking trying to run

she loves her brother's lightning mcqueen slippers (and any shoes with Velcro)

she also loves to put flip flops on her arms and wears them around all day

she loves the park especially the swings

she loves pushing her baby around and takes her purse when we go bye-bye

and her favorite thing to do at this point is to eat, all day

she loves her bracelets and waving to everyone

she is talking too!

her words include:

and she likes to repeat anything we say, she does her best

and yes she can say ma-ma but chooses not to :(

we spent our morning at the allergist today

james has always had allergies, but this year they have been very bad

it turns out he is allergic to his life:

dogs (we have two)

grass (he is a golfer)

pecan tree pollen (we live on the outside of a pecan orchard)

palo verde & mesquite pollen (all of the trees in our neighborhood)

every common weed

and the list goes on...

he was allergic to over 40 of the 54 allergens he was tested for

we are just so surprised at how used to his allergies he has gotten, the last few weeks he has been on 2 different allergy meds, one antibiotic and 2 nasal sprays and has started to feel some relief

the doctor says weekly allergy shots are in his future

what a bummer, but at least it's manageable

Bisbee, AZ

arizona is finally cooling off and we are taking full advantage

we've been taking day trips around to see some of the small towns just outside of tucson

last weekend we went to bisbee

we told connor we were going on an adventure

and james delivered

he set us up to take the queen mine tour

i was so nervous and almost bailed on it when they put a miners light on me and told me it was dark and cold

but the kids loved it

molly was trying to walk around in the dark and didn't mind the cold at all

connor was singing "workin' on the railroad" on the train ride into the mine

we went 1500 feet into the old mine that closed in 1974

it was pretty interesting i must admit and i didn't completely lose it while we were inside

i can't wait to see where else our weekend travels take us...

happy birthday molly

one year ago today at 7:51am molly came bursting into this world and has filled our hearts and home with so much joy! molly is up early this morning and mommy definately has some fun planned.

i can't believe how fast this year has gone.  molly has brought so much life to our family and we couldn't imagine anything without her!  she is walking and talking and her bestfriend is her brother.  her words are "da-da" and "hi" and she will have an entire conversation with one of those words.  she is such a good eater so far and loves trying new things.  she is also very independent, she likes to do things on her own especially climbing!  she gets on and off of the couch and the kid chairs.  she loves to be outside.  we go to the park in the evenings and she love the swings and riding the quad around.

i'm so excited to see what the next year will be us with her!

we love her very much and are so blessed to have her as our own.

the birds and the bees

for mother's day this year connor and james made me a new garden

so i planted watermelon and pumpkins

4 very small little plants that have grown into this...

i have two bowling ball size pumpkins and a pretty good size watermelon

it is so exciting and we can't believe how big the pumpkin plants have gotten!

we all go out every morning to see how much everything has grown

we have so many little pumpkins that haven't made it :(

so i asked my dad what was happening...

well that is when he gave me "the talk"

about male and female plants

and fertilization

i was astonished

and apparently everyone knows this but me...

and james

apparently you can hand fertilize plants but it hasn't worked for me

i will post more pictures of the pumpkins

molly on the go

connor got this quad last year for his birthday and it hasn't gotten that much use

i had put it inside so it wouldn't get ruined in the rain and molly noticed it

she worked very hard to climb on it and liked to just sit on it

until daddy taught her how to push the button to make it go

and ever since then, she's been on the move

she rides it all over the house and we've even taken it to the park

it is so funny to watch her because she's so little but she is tough
