rodeo days

i took the kids to the rodeo parade last week
i have great memories to going to the parade when i was little and knew my kids would love it too
molly really loves horses and connor loves all animals
so we headed out early thursday morning to meet our friends
it didn't go so well, it was actually quite a nightmare really
we parked and walked about a 1/2 a mile and realized that our friends were all the way on the other side of the parade and couldn't get through
so we walked back to the car and it took us about an hour to make our way up the road a mile or so
we finally made it to our friends and the parade was mostly over and the kids couldn't see that great but we did have fun for a bit
ice cream and kettle corn at 9am made it worth it
next year i will not let that parade defeat me! and hopefully we can make it to other fun rodeo festivities!

bowling with dad

james took connor bowling for the first time this month and connor loved it!
the food, the shirt, the ball...
james had such a fun time teaching connor how to bowl and connor did pretty good on his own
he scored a 71 all by himself!

it all started when connor found his bowling shirts in his closet and he knew exactly what they were...'mom i want to wear my bowling shirt and go bowling'
nana and papa boyle had this particular bowling shirt embroidered with his name a long time ago and it just now fits...so cute!

happy valentine's day!
connor was pretty into valentine's day this year(just like his daddy :)
he talked about it the whole week before and even asked me to be his valentine

it was the coldest and wettest day of the year and we still ventured out to the mall for the kids' very first Build A Bear experience.
(small side note)
i picked connor up from preschool and he told me that his teacher had to leave class to see if her baby can come out! how exciting, {she was born later that evening!} connor has been very into his teacher's pregnancy always touching her belly, so when he saw pictures of the baby he was so intrigued.
anyway...
molly has been sick and wasn't particularly into it, but connor loved it!
he got into the whole process and wow we could've spent all day there!
connor fell in love with his bear the second he saw it and even when we tried to show him all the other awesome choices he knew this was "the one".  molly was a little easier to sway but she knew it was a pink bear for her!
(another side note from the day)
molly was kind of a mess that day and ended up at the doctors the very next day only to find out she has (another) ear infection :(
this poor girl anytime she gets a tooth or a little sniffle, bam ear infection or two

it was a great day with the kids even if moo was a little cranky and sick

12 women
2 vans
24 hours
200 miles
(on foot through the beautiful Arizona desert)
can only mean one thing...

and i'm in(?)

i only slightly regretted saying those words when i committed to run back in september
i'm not a runner but thought it would be a good opportunity to get my business together, get in shape and have a goal

but then i panicked
and did what any normal girl would do...

i signed my two best friends up to do it with me :)
(i don't think i'm going to be able to pick our yearly trip locations anymore :)

but like any great best friend would do they said 'yes' and we will be doing this ridiculously {fun} relay in just a few weeks!

{this is one thing that was on my list of 'things to do before 30'}

i've had my ups and downs with running in the past few months and have learned a ton...but i'm actually a little excited to do this!

each runner runs 3 legs
we start in Wickenburg, Arizona and end in Tempe! i hear it makes for quite the journey but everyone i've talked to who has done it have loved it! so we'll see.
